Dear Scientists, Clinicians, Policy makers, Private actors, Civil society,

Arboviruses are a growing global concern, affecting humans, animals and plants across continents. In recent years, the world has witnessed an increase in both the number and diversity of these vector borne pathogens, driven by environmental changes expanding vector populations, and by intensified international transportation. Europe is no exception: outbreaks of West Nile virus, dengue, and other emerging plant and animal arboviruses illustrate the growing threat. Addressing these challenges requires innovative approaches that are nurtured by integrated perspectives and strengthened by knowledge sharing across human, animal and plant health scientific communities.

The first European Conference on Arboviruses was conceived with this vision. Its two core objectives are (i) bringing together researchers working on arboviruses in humans, animals and plants, creating a rare opportunity for exchange across disciplines that too often remain compartmentalized; and (ii) highlighting European research efforts to better identify regional specificities, challenges and opportunities that shape our response to current and future arbovirus threats in Europe and globally.

By gathering scientific, clinical, epidemiological and agronomic communities alongside private sector actors and policy makers, the conference offers a unique platform to foster dialogue, collaboration and innovation. Participants will benefit from diverse perspectives, discovering innovative methodologies, and forging partnerships that can accelerate solutions to the growing threat of arboviruses. At a time when arbovirus threats are increasing both globally and across Europe, advancing research and sharing knowledge have never been more essential.
