Diversity and evolution of mobile genetic elements and their interactions

Mobile genetic elements are ubiquitous drivers of microbial evolution. Recent discoveries have revealed an unexpected diversity beyond classical phages and plasmids, including phage-plasmids, satellites, and other hybrid elements. This session will explore how we identify and classify these entities, and how their interactions in cellulo shape genomes and microbial communities.
