This session will feature oral presentations and posters on the emergence and transmission of antimicrobial resistance in environmental ecosystems. Topics covered will include environmental hotspots of resistance, selective pressures such as antibiotics and co-contaminants, horizontal gene transfer, resistome analysis using molecular tools, impacts of wastewater treatment, transmission pathways, modeling approaches, and mitigation strategies targeting environmental sources.
