Welcome to the 1st International Scientific Conference & Workshop on the Rhizotest method
You are already a Rhizotest user and/or you are conducting fundamental or applied research on rhizosphere interactions regulating soil-plant transfer of nutrients and contaminants in agricultural soils and polluted sites and soils?
The first International Scientific Conference & Workshop on the Rhizotest method, to be held from September 7 to 10, 2026, in Montpellier, should be of interest to you.
The objective of this event is to discuss the Rhizotest method in relation to:
- Key theoretical concepts (e.g., root mat principle, bioavailability);
- Recent results (e.g., rhizosphere processes, phytoavailability of trace elements and organic contaminants);
- Methodological challenges and breakthroughs (e.g., adaptation to organic contaminants, interactions with soil microorganisms and fauna, assessment of safety and phytotoxic risks);
- Consolidation of the international scientific community (setting up collaborative projects, data sharing).
Our ambition is to create a scientific event that is:
- Small in scale to encourage meaningful exchanges;
- Highly interactive, with plenary sessions, workshops, and ample time for informal discussions;
- Financially accessible to as many people as possible with moderate participation fees and one mobility grant for a Global South partner;
- Friendly and welcoming, including a tour and a cocktail reception.
We look forward to welcoming you at Cirad in Montpellier and to sharing inspiring scientific discussions in a collaborative and friendly atmosphere.
