Welcome to the first edition of ViRAE
Dear friends and colleagues,
The community of virologists at INRAE and associated institutions is proud to launch ViRAE, a series of workshops designed to provide a comprehensive and structured overview of virology research within the INRAE framework.
Combining scientific excellence and conviviality in an inclusive and stimulating environment, ViRAE seeks both to reinforce synergies between INRAE teams and to map ongoing research efforts and identify the strengths and weaknesses of the various virology fields that are covered within the institute. Our ultimate goal is to involve the scientific community in making ViRAE a strategic and prospective platform for coordinating future research and strengthening INRAE as a key player in virology, both in France and internationally.
To this end, ViRAE intends to bring together virologists from all INRAE research units, regardless of their institutional affiliations or areas of expertise. These meetings will thus cover all facets of virology, from archae and bacteria to humans and animals, as well as plants, whether dealing with vector-borne viruses or not.
To ensure the sustainability of this initiative, ViRAE is intended to become an annual event, hosted in rotation by different INRAE units across France.
The Organizing Committee is delighted and eager to welcome you to the first edition of ViRAE, which will take place from October 6th to 8th, 2025, at the Domaine Saint-Joseph in Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon.
Save the dates and register as soon as possible!
Please note that due to logistical constraints the number of participants will be limited to around one hundred.
We look forward to meeting many of you at this promising event.
