Our eco-friendly commitments
IN AN EFFORT TO REDUCE OUR ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT,
OUR COMMITMENTS ARE BASED ON 6 PILLARS:
1 Venue Selection
The 20th SFM National Conference will be held at an ISO 20121 certified venue (attesting to the sustainable management of your organization: water and energy consumption, choice of suppliers, employee safety, etc.), thus guaranteeing responsible site management.
2 Travel
Aware of the significant impact of travel related to organizing a conference, we are taking action by:
- Ensuring the conference is accessible by public transport, encouraging attendees and speakers to prioritize train travel over plane travel.
- Selecting accommodations accessible on foot or by public transport.
3 Catering
- Sending out management forms to all participants allows us to refine food requirements, thereby limiting food waste.
- We work with ISO 20121 certified caterers, guaranteeing better management of environmental impacts.
- We ask our caterers to prioritize local and seasonal products in the menus offered.
4 Waste Reduction
To limit waste streams, we have implemented the following actions:
- We are dematerializing the book of abstracts into a PDF version, available online for all participants.
- For signage, we are limiting the use of plastic (tarpaulins, PVC, composite aluminum, etc.) by favoring the use of recyclable paper.
- We ask our caterers to prioritize reusable tableware.
- We collect and reuse badge holders.
5 A More Committed Exhibition Space
To limit the impact of the exhibition, our suppliers are taking action by:
- Carefully selecting materials: eco-designed and 100% recyclable carpeting.
- Preferring LED lighting for stands, allowing for low electricity consumption.
