Marie-Anne Félix

Marie-Anne Félix began her scientific career with a PhD on cell cycle regulation at EMBL-Heidelberg. She then turned to development, evolution and nematodes. She has been a Principal Investigator at the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris since 2012. Her research encompasses quantitative and evolutionary biology of vulva development in C. elegans and other nematode species and studies of natural populations of these species, including their population genetic structure. She is also studying co-evolution of nematodes with pathogens and recently discovered viruses infecting wild isolates of C. elegans. The discovery of these viruses will enable further studies of host-virus interactions and the identification of other host mechanisms that counter viral infection.
