EFP 2026

Welcome to the 11^th European Federation for Primatology (EFP) Meeting in Montpellier! It is the second time that the EFP meeting takes place in France, and we are really looking forward to hosting students and colleagues interested in primatology for a week in Southern France, at the onset of the Mediterranean summer.

At a time when both non-human primates and scientists are facing major challenges, we are striving to propose a rich and inclusive scientific program, which proudly promotes the values upheld by our respective scientific societies, including strong and ethical science, equity, respect and coexistence within and among species. When preparing the conference, we have attempted, and will still attempt during the conference, to foster exchange between students and scientists from diverse geographical and cultural backgrounds, with a particular emphasis on inclusivity and global collaboration. Together with artists and science communicators, we hope to push the boundaries of science beyond borders.

This will be made easier by the location of the conference venue, at the heart of the historical center of Montpellier, which is famous for its old Mediterranean streets and plazas full of small terraces perfect for enjoying sunny coffee breaks.
